Joshua (he/him) believes in fostering an authentic relationship with clients built on understanding, trust, and respect for the individual and their story. He draws from several therapeutic modalities, namely Internal Family Systems, Queer Theory, and Motivational Interviewing. Joshua is a sex-positive therapist, with a specialty in religious trauma, and is interested in working with other members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially Trans folx.
A transplant to Oregon, Joshua is originally from Boise, Idaho where he earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Boise State University. He would spend the next few years working in mental health for addiction treatment services as well as youth mental health before moving to Portland to attend Portland State University’s Master of Social Work program.
In his free time he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest through hiking, backpacking, and camping. He finds nature to be a very healing place and always encourages his clients to come into contact with the natural world in whatever ways they most enjoy!
