Meet Todd:

I believe that each person is unique and worthy of support that fits their personality, situation, and context — after all, we’re individuals, not generic textbook examples. I approach my clinical work with person-centered, strengths-based care, using a variety of methods and therapeutic lenses, all in service of finding what’s best for each person in an environment that is comfortable, personal, and non-judgmental.

I have been in recovery for over 15 years and understand the commitment it takes to create lasting change of any kind, and I’m motivated and honored to work with others on the path of bettering themselves. I’m also passionate about supporting individuals, parents, families, and children who are new to therapy, inspired by the positive impact counseling has had in my own life.

Who I Work With:

I work with children (ages 3-10) and adults (18+) dealing with issues of self-worth and self-acceptance, depression and anxiety, shame and guilt, those rebuilding their lives after addiction or divorce, families and children experiencing neurodiversity, those struggling at the intersections of spirituality and culture, and anyone working to better understand themselves, their trauma, and their place in the world around them through healing and introspection.

What To Expect in Therapy:

My style is engaging, friendly, and collaborative, using language, psychoeducation, humor, metaphor, and wit to create an environment that is warm, comfortable, non-judgmental, and relational.

I have a Master’s in Social Work, and I bring decades of experience as a writer and as a Personal Support Worker for families with neurodiverse or special needs children, and have over 25 years of experience working with kids, adults, and families through teaching, writing, life skills training, leading after-school programs and summer camps, and volunteering as a preschool Sunday school teacher.

Todd is practicing under the clinical supervision of Dane Ward, LCSW (dane@connectionsfirst.org), and will adhere to the code of ethics set by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.
