Quillan (he/they) approaches therapy from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective that recognizes the value each individual person brings to their communities. They aim to offer a space to hold and honor the hurt their clients are feeling within an isolating world. He does this with a combination of tenets from Gestalt and Internal Family Systems aimed toward providing clients with an opportunity to be in community with someone who holds curiosity, care, and the desire to continuously show up as a better, more informed, and more compassionate clinician. These modalities additionally enable clients to form deeper mind/body connections, something that they have found to be especially valuable for folks used to living wholly in their minds.

Quillan brings his whole, authentic, and human experience as a white, neurodivergent, trans clinician with a history of his own religious trauma and healing into his therapy room.

As a human capable of making mistakes, operating within the uneven power dynamic that is therapist/client, he works to address potential issues and to continuously learn from those with experiences that differ from his own, whether that be racially, culturally, or spiritually. He is honored when clients feel comfortable calling him out and/or point to the gaps in his approaches and perspectives.

Quillan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies and Writing & Rhetoric Studies from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education specializing in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Portland State University. Outside of the counseling room he enjoys knitting, walks and park visits with his wife and dog, and re-watching episodes of Bob’s Burgers.

Quillan works with teens from age 13+ and adults 18+.
