Khefri Azure
Khefri is a clinical social work intern in her final year of the Master of Social Work program at Portland State University, holding a BA in Social Justice and Cultural Studies from The Evergreen State College. As a white-presenting, biracial Indigenous woman who identifies as queer and cisgender, Khefri is dedicated to therapy as a tool for both personal and collective transformation. Her practice is rooted in inclusivity, equity, and an anti-oppressive framework.
Khefri takes a person-centered approach, empowering clients to explore their capacity for growth and healing. She believes our bodies and nervous systems carry valuable insights about survival and resilience, and that deeper listening is key to personal healing. She understands the nuanced complexities of identity, the impact of intergenerational trauma, and the resilience that arises from the intersection of personal and collective healing.
In sessions with Khefri, you’ll experience a blend of curiosity, empathetic listening, direct communication, and a commitment to creating a safe, nurturing space that honors the uniqueness of your story. She is particularly attuned to issues of grief and loss, family trauma, shame, addiction, and building healthy relationships. Khefri welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals, couples, and adolescents.
Khefri practices under the clinical supervision of Slavica Kojadinovic, LCSW, as part of her internship with Connections First. She adheres to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics and can be reached via Slavica Kojadinovic at slavica@connectionsfirst.org.
