Meet Janet:

Hello! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Janet, a perfectly imperfect human who enjoys authentically connecting with others through our common humanity. Our differences are what make us unique and remarkable, and can also create the most hardship for us. I don’t believe there is a right or wrong way to live our lives and I don’t believe in good or bad feelings. We are all doing our best, and I’m here to meet you where you are and support your journey to where you’d like to be.

Who I Work With:

I work with individual adults, parents, young and school-age children, teens, and families of all types that are striving for more satisfying, connected relationships with each other, with the world around them, and with themselves.

Therapeutic Approach:

I am a curious, caring, and compassionate person by nature. The more I learn about people’s lives and how they got to now, the more I appreciate their strengths and resiliency. I like to highlight and expand upon all that’s gone well while exploring different ways to navigate toward what feels like wellness for you or your family. A personalized approach for you is my goal.

We’ll take the time you need to build trust in me, this process, and maybe yourself. I welcome your whole, authentic self and strive to create a safe, respectful, dependable relationship that allows you to feel seen, heard, understood, appreciated, and valued.

Clinical Background:

To achieve that I use a variety of ideas- here’s how I make quick sense of some of these approaches to therapy:

Relational Gestalt (we are unconsciously shaped by our whole environment, including the past)

Speaking of the past, I’m trauma-focused and attachment-aware- because these things are with us all day every day.

CBT (how we think affects how we act and vice versa)

DBT (how we share about ourselves and our needs matters)

IFS (for good reasons, we sometimes act in ways that don’t align with our values, and we can suffer for that)

ACT (to help us know what those values are and how to be ok with that!)

Mindfulness (so we can pay attention to ourselves and our impact in a kind and self-compassionate way)

...and many other methods and tools- meditation, movement/body awareness, story-telling, books, podcasts, art, fidgets...we can be creative if we want to be!

It’s likely that you carry a heavy burden (or two, or three…) that was put upon you, and I’m here to support healing- shedding what no longer helps, and then showing up in ways that do. If you’re ready to feel more whole, I’m ready to meet you.
