We are a team of psychotherapists serving the state of Oregon. Our office is a place of transformation and growth as we are continuously striving to make a company we can be proud of. An environment that raises the bar of psychotherapy by living aligned with what we deeply believe in:

  • Attuned and connected therapeutic relationship delivers effective & rewarding therapy

  • A culture of trust and integrity provides caring and compassionate service

  • Staying current with the leading edge, latest developments challenges clinicians to grow professionally

The hallmark of our work is You centered - psychodynamic, deeply relational work combined with focused somatic mindfulness. Everybody is unique. Your therapy should be too. Psychotherapy is complex, rich, and rewarding work and we treat it with the respect it deserves. Connections First’s psychotherapists are trained in more than one treatment modality including brain-based /body-centered modalities such as:

  • EMDR

  • Brainspotting

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Focused Mindfulness-based Therapies

Ongoing studies of trauma and shame continue to present data that the body remembers everything, always talks, often in the form of physical and/or psychological symptoms. Our health heals and enriches as we learn to listen to the body’s messages, see how the coping patterns we adapted in childhood became a source of dysfunction and sometimes pathology later in life.

To help you translate and find a meaning in what you hear from the uniqueness of your body, we also use frameworks, interventions, and techniques from other theories/treatment modalities such as:

  • Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT)

  • Dialectic Behavioral Theory (DBT)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP),

  • Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Gestalt Therapy

  • Jungian Approach, and many others.

We rely heavily on using the therapeutic relationship to support self-reflection and self-examination as a window into the roots of your suffering and gaining insight into your current Self.  In other words, we offer brain-based/body-centered and evidence-based therapies to help you combine healing your biology with creating new ways of achieving what you want in life.

Support Group Meeting

In a psychotherapy room you will give yourself an opportunity to learn self-reflection, begin to understand your instinctual responses, experience somatic release, and as a result change your life narrative. In this act you will experience a change in your relationship to your past and to your future.

You will rediscover your true Self, your purpose and your mission for your own life. You will restore equilibrium and wholeness of your body and mind. You will be able to feel and offer a deeper connection to Self and others.

We are honored you are considering us to guide you through such important transformations of your life.

We thank you for trusting us.
